Ruby Reilly, owner and operator of New Wexwood Yarn Co.
Ruby Reilly has been knitting since she was a child, and her grandmother, Margot, taught her to crochet. Margot was not a very patient woman, and frustrated Ruby so greatly that she refused to learn to crochet until her grandmother re-examined her teaching abilities, and perhaps curbed her drinking. Ruby's aunt, Jeanne, was a very patient woman, and very gently taught Ruby how to knit.
Ruby raises a small herd of sheep, and spins, dyes, and sells the wool in her shop. She also loves to sing karaoke, and loves horror novels. Which may explain why she creates knitted monster dolls in her spare time. Look for her current monster dolls for sale at the Shop New Wexwood page.
Ursula Oeglee, owner and operator of Ursula's On the Square
Ursula Oeglee has lived in New Wexwood for close to 25 years, and opened Ursula's On the Square, a delightful independent clothing store, after her husband retired. Ursula has always been a gifted seamstress, even when she was very young, and loves making beautiful clothes for her customers.
When her beloved husband unexpectedly died last year, Ursula was momentarily at a loss. She recovered quickly, and began making Oeglee Scarves to commemorate her husband's memory. The scarves are very popular, even if the color combinations are a little unexpected.
Ursula loves to help other women make the most of their unique beauty, and prides herself in being able to make anyone, no matter what their shape, beautiful.
Whatever you do, don't pronounce her last name "Ugly."
